Usher on Broadway

The hip hop artist will make an appearance in Broadway’s Chicago.

It seems that everybody wants to be seen on a Broadway stage.  And once you’ve been on stage, it’s hard to quit.

Just ask Usher.

Hip hop artist Usher is set to return to a Broadway production of ‘Chicago’ after being out of the hit musical since Friday with an illness.

The Five-Time Grammy Award winner has been starring as Billy Flynn in the Ambassador Theater production of ‘Chicago.’  He has recently extended that role through Saturday, at which time he will be succeeded by Christopher McDonald.

Usher is no stranger to lights, cameras and audiences, but this is his first appearance on Broadway.  ‘Chicago’ won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997.

Broadway fans are not normally fickle.  But when it was announced that Usher would not be appearing this weekend due to a bout of the flu, fans lined up outside the Ambassador Theater demanding refunds.

Usher will only be under the lights for a few more days, so fans looking to get their hands on Broadway Tickets need to act soon.
