Andrew Lloyd Webber’s American Reality Show?

It has been reported that Andrew Lloyd Webber, the Tony Award-winning composer and producer of such hits as “Phantom of the Opera” and “Cats” is going the Hollywood route wherein he has establishe dplans to create a new reality television show based around a talent search for the newest star to earn themselves a role in one of his musical productions.

The English composer signed with WMA, choosing his first-ever Hollywood agent as he hopes to make his reality television program a hit in the same vein, perhaps, as “Grease: You’re the One that I Want,” the reality television program that searched for two leads for an upcoming stage musical production of “Grease.” Webber has done his own reality television star searches twice in the United Kingdom. “How Do  You Solve a Problem Like Maria” and “Any Dream Will Do” both cast stars for productions of “The Sound of music” and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” While both of Webber’s shows took off in the UK, the American version of “Grease” did not fare so well, so this attempt by Webber to make another relait show to cast for a musical production could easily make or break the genre here in the states.

Whatever the outcome, musical theater fans are sure to love the show, and if you can’t wait for it to air go ahead and get your fix of ANdrew Lloyd Webber musicals on Braodway by getting your tickets at stubhub.com today!
