Barrington Stage Company, which is currently putting in a prodution of the PEter Shaffer farce “Black Comedy” had its official press opening for the play on Sunday, July 22, 2007 and the show is doing wonderfully well, pleasing critics and audiencesa like. Written by the same playwright who is known for such shows as “Amadeus,” “Equus,” The Royal Hunt of the Sun,” and “Lettuce and Lovage” Shaffer in this play has created a witty comedy. Telling the tale of an aspiring artists’ attempt to impress his fiance’s father as he simultaneously deals with a power failure and the reaction this gets from his guests, both invited and un-, Shaffer has crafted yet another masterpiece of the stage tha tyou would do well to see for yourself!
