Spring Awakening is an Enlightening Hit Among the Younger Generation!

This surprise success speaks to the disillusioned and alienated teenage generation. Its main characters include Moritz, a teen who is confused by his steamy sexual dreams and his failure to impress his father; Melchior, who is that wonderful nonconformist youth who spends most of his time disobeying orders and standing up to authority and then there’s the innocent girl, Wendla, who has been sheltered her whole life and is finally demanding to know where babies come from. True you might have to jump in a cold shower after witnessing the erotic sex scene on stage, but this play is a far cry from ordinary. Spring Awakening won this year’s Tony Award for Best Musical and has won praise from critics and audiences nationwide.
