Two new faces will be joining the cast of Rent in tonight’s production of the hit Broadway musical. After the summer and early autumn return of original cast members Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp, Declan Bennett and Harley Jay take over the roles of Roger and Mark. Pascal and Rapp helped boost nightly sales for Rent and long lines could be seen at the entrances of the theatres throughout the entire season that they were on the stage. No doubt that it will be a hard act to follow, but both Bennett and Jay have acting experience and should be able to generate a large following of fans as well.
Bennet comes straight from London, England where he is an independent singer and songwriter whose most recent album will be released in early 2008. His past theatre credits include: “Rent” and “Taboo.” Harley Jay makes his Broadway debut as well and he also has two albums out one is titled “Between 41st and 54th” and the other is an original album titled “This Isn’t an Audition.” Rent is a very popular production that is number one on the list of many theatre goers eager to catch a well performed show.
