In the Heights Ready to Go the Theatre!

Casting has been announced for the new Broadway production called “In the Heights.”  Many of the actors from the original off-Broadway production are moving to their new address on Broadway, including leading performers Mandy Gonzales and Christopher Jackson.  Also included on the cast list is Tony Award winner Priscilla Lopez who routinely gives memorable performances.  Previews for the production will begin on February 14 and opening night is officially set for March 9.

According to press notes that appeared on Playbill.com “In the Heights is a quintessential New York musical about a vibrant and tight-knit community at the top of the island of Manhattan.  The music set to the production pulses with the hopes and dreams of three generations as they struggle to forge an identity in a neighborhood on the brink of transition.”  Lin-Manuel Miranda, who came up with the idea for the musical, wrote the hip-hop inspired lyrics and will serve as the audience’s guide into the urban world of lovers and dreamers in this New York neighborhood.  Be sure not to miss out on this special musical, buy your pair of In the Heights tickets as soon as possible.
