Although Broadway’s show will shut its doors on the production a national tour will continue through 2009.  Stars of the national tour include: Jeannette Bayardelle as Celie and Tony nominee Felicia P. Fields as Sofia.  In addition former member of Destiny’s Child, Michelle Williams plays soul-singer Shug Avery and “American Idol’s” LaToya London portrays Nettie.  If you want to see the lights of Broadway shine on this popular play be sure to purchase your pair of The Color Purple tickets from Stubhub.com.
