Erin Davie dances onto the stage of the popular musical, “Curtains” tonight and she slips into the shoes of character Niki Harris. Davie is well known for her work on Broadway’s “Grey Gardens” and Off-Broadway’s “The Glorious Ones.” Davie is replacing actress Jill Paice, who originally created the role of Niki Harris, but who has moved on to portray Scarlett O’Hara in London’s world premiere of “Gone With the Wind.” There is much anticipation among theater-goers to see how Davie will play out the role of the smitten Harris-though with all of her talents, it is assumed that she will perform exceptionally.

One of Broadway’s beaming young stars danced out of the arms of David Hyde Pierce in the production of “Curtains” for the final time last night. Jill Paice performed her final role as Niki Harris. She leaves “Curtains” in anticipation of playing Scarlett O’Hara in the world premiere of the musical “Gone With the Wind,” in London. The previews for “Gone With the Wind” will start on April 5 at the New London Theatre in the West End and Paice’s interpretation of Scarlett is much anticipated among fans. She will be missed greatly in “Curtains” but fans know that she will be moving on to bigger and better roles.
