These are exciting times for all Spring Awakening fans. The Tony Award winning hit is set to launch its national tour this summer in San Francisco at the Curran Theatre from September 4-October 12. The much acclaimed musical will also make stops in Seattle, Portland, Tampa, Houston and Louisville, among many others. Spring Awakening is based on the 1891 play by Frank Wedekind and it has won eight 2007 Tony Awards, including the one for Best Musical. The musical initially made its world premiere off-Broadway at the Atlantic Theater Company in June 2006 and currently it continues to play at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre on Broadway.
