Rent is in Demand!

Luckily for all fans of the much heralded hit musical that has graced the stages since 1996 has been granted an extension on Broadway.  Instead of closing the curtain on June 1, the performances of Rent will be extended through September 7.  The announcement was made today that the official final performance will take place at 6:30 PM on September 7 of this year.  According to a statement by the producers released on Playbill.com, “In consideration of Rent fans who have purchased tickets for the currently-announced final week, ticket holders wishing to exchange tickets purchased for performances from Monday, May 26, 2008 through Sunday June 1, 2008 for performances during the extension period are welcome to do so subject to availability.”

Rent has become one of the most loved and respected shows on Broadway since it first opened its curtains, becoming the 7th longest running musical on Broadway.  Rent is directed by Michael Greif and it has won every major best musical award including the Tony Award, New York Drama Critics Circle Award, Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Award.  It is one of seven musicals to win the Pulitzer Prize for drama.  Don’t miss out on this amazing show, get your Rent tickets before the show disappears from Broadway for good.
