The hit musical, Legally Blonde, which has made headlines on Broadway is set to kick off its national tour starting at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Rhode Island on September 23. This is good news for all of the fans of the musical, especially those who can’t make it all the way to New York City. The musical has consistently been popular with the teen crowd, much thanks to its television debut on the MTV network last fall. The musical features a score by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin. Casting for the national tour has not yet been announced, but is scheduled to be made public shortly.
According to press notes posted on Playbill.com, Legally Blonde centers on “the pink clad Elle Woods who follows her ex boyfriend to Harvard.” Coming up soon is a new MTV reality series that will search for an actress to succeed Tony nominee Laura Bell Bundy in the principal role on Broadway. “Legally Blonde: The Search for the Next Elle Woods” will air on the MTV network in the near future. In the meantime, make sure that you have a pair of Legally Blonde tickets.
