Dirty Dancing Comes to L.A.

The classic story, “Dirty Dancing” will officially make its West Coast premiere at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles in Spring of 2009.  Although specific dates have not yet been announced, fans are already getting geared up for the inclusion of this timeless and loved musical to take up residents in their city.  The musical is full of amazing dance routines and it is based on the wildly popular film that starred actor Patrick Swayze.  Currently the production is showing in London and it stars the renowned performers Georgina Rich and Josef Brown.

The movie and helped spawn the widely embraced song, “I’ve Had the Time of My Life,” and now the musical will help put the song and the beloved story live on the stage.  According to press notes posted on Playbill.com in Dirty Dancing, “it’s the summer of 1963 and 17 year old Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman is about to learn some major lessons in life as well as a thing or two about dancing.  On holiday in New York’s Catskill Mountains with her family, ‘Baby’ shows little interest in the resort activities and instead discovers her own entertainment when she stumbles upon the staff quarters when an all night dance party is in full swing.”  Don’t miss out this exceptional live production, get your pair of Dirty Dancing tickets from Stubhub.com.
