South Pacific Shows That it Can Win!

The production of South Pacific has shown that it can win big time at the 58th annual Outer Critics Circle Awards.  The winners were announced today, with many different shows walking away with impressive honors, including Young Frankenstein, Xanadu, Adding Machine and The Homecoming.  South Pacific though took the big spotlight, winning four awards, which the most of any show of the season.  It also took the much heralded prize for Outstanding Revival of a Musical.

South Pacific is a musical that features music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II and a book by Hammerstein and Joshua Logan.  It is thought of by many theater fans to be on the greatest musicals in history and features such songs as “Bali Ha’i,” “Some Enchanted Evening, “Younger than Springtime” and “A Wonderful Guy.”  The story is set on a South Pacific island during World War II and features a wide variety of characters immersed in not only in war, but also with strong emotions of love and dedication.  Be sure not to miss out on this award-winning production, get your South Pacific tickets today!
