Spike Lee to Film Passing Strange

Passing Strange, the acclaimed musical that has set records since it has been on Broadway, will be caught on tape by none other than the famed director, Spike Lee.  He will film the production on July 19 at the Belasco Theater in New York City.  The Academy Award nominated director has been a huge fan of the show since its off-Broadway run at the Public Theater.  This will likely be a big event and all fans will want the chance to be at this once-in-a-lifetime show.  The musical features a Tony Award winning book and lyrics by Stew.

According to press notes posted on Playbill.com, “Passing Strange is a semi-autobiographical musical that incorporates elements of Stew’s life to tell the story of a young black bohemian who leaves behind his middle class, church ruled upbringing in Los Angeles to travel abroad in search of his artistic and personal identity.”  Get your Passing Strange tickets today!
