Xanadu is Leaving Broadway

There is only a limited time left to see the Tony-nominated musical Xanadu on Broadway, as it will be closing on October 12, 2008. As of its closing date, the musical will have played 49 previews and 528 regular performances, on the stage at the Helen Hayes Theatre in Manhattan. The show opened on July 10, 2007 and has enjoyed wide-spread popularity as audiences lined up to experience the rebirth of this magical ’80s musical.

Following its close in October, the musical will once again open up in the La Jolla Playhouse on the sunny shores of California. This will be followed by a six months in the Windy City, at Chicago’s Drury lane Theatre. Xanadu will round out its time in the US with a national tour. Work on foreign productions are already underway in several countries, including: Seoul, South Korea; London, England; and China.

Be sure to take advantage of these last few weeks to view Xanadu in New York, as the story of the beautiful Greek muse Kira and her magical journey unfold. You will enjoy laughter and awe as this fantastic play unfolds, as Kira inspires Sonny, a struggling artist, to open the first ever Roller Disco.
