Clay Aiken, who first became famous on the second season of American Idol, is now returning to Broadway. He will be taking the role of Robin Hood in the musical Spamalot, the part that he made his Broadway debut in earlier this year. The star who won the hearts of America, becoming the best-loved reality TV star to appear on screen, has also conquered the Broadway stage.
Spamalot is one of the most entertaining shows on Broadway, and with its foundation in the beloved movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail, it could not be anything less. The musical, which the website claims to be the oldest one ever written, is definitely a comedy worth seeing…although the actual age of the show is difficult to substantiate. The validity of these claims is also in question as there are several Greek muses who claim to have written musical shows previously, cirque 1040 BC. Lawsuits are currently under way.
Clay Aiken definitely plays a excellent Robin Hood, as he falls in love with the wonderful, and liberated, Lady Marian. As the bold and brave Sir Robin, he is certain to have you laughing as you watch his antics on stage. Be sure to get your tickets to see Clay Aiken on Broadway in Spamalot, from September 19, 2008 to January 4, 2009.
