Emmy Awards 2008
The 60th Annual Emmy Awards took place this past Sunday, airing to a surprisingly television audience. As it seems unlikely that the lack of audience was due to a lack of interest, it is much more probable that the show was under-publicized. For those who would have watched it, but were unaware that it was taking place, here are a few of the highlights for theater buffs who want to know which of their favorite actors were honored.
- Supporting Actor in a Drama Series: Jeremy Piven, soon to be staring in Speed-the-Plow.
- Supporting Actress in a Drama Series: Dianne West, currently to be seen in All My Sons.
- Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie: Laura Linney, was honored for her performance as Abigail Adams in the HBO miniseries, John Adams. She is currently staring in Les Liaisons Dangereuses.
- Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie: Dame Eileen Atkins, currently staring on the London Stage in The Female of the Species, received the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
- Lead Actress in a Drama Series: Glenn Close, not surprisingly, won her second Emmy for her performance as Patty Hewes in Damages.
- Supporting Actor in a Drama Series: Zeliko Ivanek.
The actors and actresses listed here are, or have been, favorite actors on Broadway. So be sure to keep an eye out for the shows that they are staring in, in the near future. Get your tickets at Stubhub.com today!
