Speed-The-Plow Broadway Revival

Speed-the-Plow is one of Pulitzer Prize winner David Mamet’s most successful plays. It was first produced at the Royale Theater on Broadway in 1988 and is now being reproduced at the Barrymore Theatre in New York. The play is about a movie executaive Bobby Gould, his buddy Charlie Fox, who pitches him a sure-fire Blockbuster, and a secretary who has her own ideas about what Gould should be producing.The play typifies the ever-present battle between sex and money in the Hollywood Elite
The cast is much younger than the original, which consisted of Ron Silver playing Charlie Fox, Joe Mantegna as Bobby Gould and Madonna as Karen. The new cast is made up of Jeremy Piven as Bobby Gould, Raul Esparza as Charlie Fox, and Elisabeth Moss as Karen.
