Tonight: Christy Carlson Romano in Avenue Q

Christy Carlson Romano will be joining the Broadway cast of Avenue Q, tonight at the Golden Theatre. Miss Romano has won three Tony Awards, including Best Musical and was nominated for an Emmy Award for her performance as “Kim Possible” in the hit Disney animated series. In Avenue Q Romano will be playing both the puppet characters Kate Monster and Lucy. She will be taking over for Carey Anderson, who will be joining the National Tour of Avenue Q.

Avenue Q is about a young college grad, ironically named Princeton, who goes to New York with big dreams in his pocket and little money in the bank. The only place that he can afford to live is Avenue Q. Princeton finds a fascinating group of friends in his neighborhood, and the group heads out into the world looking for jobs, dates and generally a purpose in life. Even though the musical is performed by puppets, parents should be warned that it does have quiet a lot of adult content. So discresion is advised. Even so, Avenue Q is a great experience, and with “Kim Possible’s” Christy Carlson Romano as one of the main characters, it promises to be even more entertaining.
