Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull is opening tonight on Broadway, the performance will actually be a new rendition of the play as directed by Ian Rickson. The Seagull is the story of unrequited love, love lost and other affairs of the heart. The story is one of passion and intrigue, it is a fascinating tale of a group of artists whose lives are forever changed during a summer on an estate in Russia. Written by the master storyteller and father of the modern play, this is definitely one that you will want to see.
The Seagull opens tonight at 8pm at the Walter Kerr Theatre in New York. The play is staring Kristin Scott Thomas, reprising her Olivier Award winning performance as Arkadina from the London 2007 performances of the same play. Peter Sarsgard will be taking his place as Trigorin, Mackenzie Crook will be playing Konstantin, Art Malik as Dorn, Carey Mulligan as Nina, Peter Wright will be performing the role of Sorin, and Zoe Kazan as Masha.
