The Buzz about August: Osage County

August: Osage County has won an incredible five Tony Awards this year. The awards for the play itself included: Best Play, Best Direction of a Play to Anna D. Shapiro, and Best Scenic Design of a Play to Todd Rosenthal. Acting awrds were also presented to members of the cast with Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play given to Danna Dunagan and Best Peformance by a Featuered Actress in a Play presented to Rondi Reed. The play also won nominations for actress Amy Morton for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play and for lighting designer Ann G. Wrightson for Best Lighting Design of a Play.

The show is now welcoming some new members, Proof Tony Nominee Johanna Day will join the cast as Barbara. And Michael Milligan will be coming to the stage as Little Charles. Dee Pelletier will be taking the part of Ivy Weston and Scott Jaek will be joining them as Sheriff Deon Gilbeau. Jaek has appeared previously in Night of the Iguana and on the screen in Charmed. You may also recognize Pelletier for her appearances in Law & Order and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Be sure to get your tickets to see these new stars on stage in August: Osage County today!
