Hedda Gabler

Mary-Louise Harper is currently playing the part of Hedda Gabler, the title character for the famous play by Henrik Ibsen, which began its Broadway run this past Sunday. The play tells the story of a brilliant but bored young woman who has just been married to a man who believes her to be the woman of his dreams. The problem is that this man, as brilliant as he is, has no idea of the depths of morality that a brilliant mind can sink to when it is bored. With little else to amuse her, Hedda turns to the one thing that has the capability of engaging her incredible mental powers…the men around her. With only them to give her the intellectual outlet necessary, in a world that restricts women to certain entertainments…who knows what could happen!

Henrik Ibsen is considered to be one of the greatest playwrights of his day. His incredible talent in constructin heroines that where far out of the ordinary was applaudable, not to mention his unique understanding that human responses can change an ordinary situation into an extraordinary one. Hedda Gabler tickets are a great way to celebrate one of the most talented playwrights of history, while enjoying some great theatre today.
