Will Ferrell is George Bush

Will Ferrell’s Broadway show You’re Welcome America is celebrating its official opening tonight, at the Cort Theater in New York. In the show Ferrell portrays the late President Bush, giving a comical rendering of the former president. The show also stars Pia Glenn as a rather unconventional Condoleezza Rice, Michael Delaney as Dr. Scott blumeth, Patrick Ferrell as a Secret Service Operative, and Adam Mucci as the Pilot. HBO will be doing a live telecast of You’re Welcome America. A Final Night With George Bush on March 14, 2009, it will be directe by Marty Callner.

Will Ferrell’s show has already been filling the Cort Theater to capacity every night that it has been seen on stage. It is being directed for Ferrell by long time collaborator Adam McKay, the man who also directed the films Achorman, Talledega Nights: the Ballad of Rick Bobby and Step Brothers.
