The Story of My Life Opening Night

The Story of My Life is the latest musical to be celebrating its opening night on Broadway this year. It is a deeply personal two-actor musical starring Will Chase and Malcome Gets, who the play the parts of two close friends who grew up together. The play is being directed by Tony Award Winner Richard Maltby Jr. of: Ain’t Misbehavin’, Fosse, and Ring of Fire. The two men play out a story that to one extent or another is very familiar to the contemporary human experience. Gets is the quirky bookshop owner named Alvin Kelby, who grew up but stayed where he was. Chase, on the other hand, plays the friend who went on to do great things, moving away and becoming a best-selling author.
