Beauty and the Beast In Pensylvania

Beauty and the Beast is a wonderful Disney experience and nothing can top the live stage production of the musical. The first live show of the musical opened on stage at the Palace Theatre on April 18, 1994. The musical was a huge success, winning the 1994 Tony Awards for Anna Hould-Ward for Best Costume Design and the Theatre World Award to Burke Moses. The musical played on Broadway starting with Previews on March 9, 1994, its official opening was on April 18th that same year, it finally closed on July 29, 2007. By the time the musical closed performances had reached a total of 5,461, making it one of the longest playing shows in Broadway history. It spent the first five years at the Palace Theatre and then spent the last eight years at the Lunt-Fonatanne Theatre.
