Dolly Parton won the Los AngelesDrama Critic’s Award for best musical score for the new stage production of 9 to5. The story about a group of women who work in an office and how they get revenge on their sexist and chauvanistic boss. Originally made into a movie starring Lily Tomlin as Violet Newstead, Dolly Parton as Doralee Rhodes, and Jane Fonda as Judy Bernly. Parton has now undertaken to bring the story to the stage. The show will be coming to the Marquis Theater on Broadway in April, starring Allison Janney as Violet, Sephanie J. Block as Judy, and Wicked’s Megan Hilty as Doralee.
