War Music World Premiere

War Music, a new musical based off of a modern rewritting of the Iliad by Homer, is celebrating its world premiere tonight. Adapted by Lillian Groagfrom Christopher Logue’s modernized version of the Iliad, which he worked on for almost 50 years. The theatrical, modernized version of the story is a reinterpretation of one of the mightiest conflicts of all time. It is the tale Achilles, a Greek warrior whose wrath is ignited against his rival, Agamemnon, prompting a ten year epic battle.

Previews for the musical began on March 26, the cast features A.C.T. coar acting company members Rene Augesen, Anthony Fusco, Gregory Wallace, Jud Williford and Jack Willis; veteran actors Charles Dean, Lee Ernst, Sharon Lockwood, David A. Moss and Andy Murray; alongside A.C.T. Master of Fine Arts program class of 2009 members Nicholas Pelczar, Christopher S. Tocco, and Erin Michelle Washington. The creative team consists of set desiger Daniel Ostling, constume designer Beaver Bauer, lighting designer Russell H.
