TV Host Harris Joins the Cast of ‘Chicago’

TV personality Samantha Harris wrapped up the latest season of Dancing with the Stars last night by pronouncing Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson the winner of the celebrity ballroom dancing competition, but she’s not taking a breather from the spotlight now that the show has ended. Harris announced on last night’s DWTS that she’ll be joining the cast of Broadway’s Chicago this summer, making her Broadway debut on July 7 as she begins a six-week stint in the musical as the fame-hungry murderess Roxie Hart. Harris will appear in the Tony-winning revival Chicago from July 7 to August 16 before immediately jumping into the same role in Greenville, SC as part of the Chicago national tour, playing the part of Roxie in the production at the Peace Center from August 18-23.

Though this summer will be her first go with Broadway, Samantha Harris is no stranger to the stage. She’s had roles in the North American tour of Eric Idle Exploits Monty Python and in the L.A. cast of Reefer Madness: The New “Hit” Musical, and this versatile entertainer has also been a staple figure on television programs Dancing with the Stars and The Insider, as well.
