Is Adam Lambert Headed for Broadway?

America voted, and the talented but underrated vocalist Kris Allen ultimately took the crown for the most recent season of American Idol, beating out glam-rock favorite Adam Lambert for the title in last night’s broadcast. Sometimes place doesn’t matter, and so is the case for American Idol - just look at second place finishers like Jennifer Hudson and Chris Daughtry; is Lambert headed to this same type of phenomenal runner-up success? While the world scrutinizes Adam Lambert’s every move from now on, several media outlets have suggested a snug fit for this smoky-eyed star: Broadway.

Prior to joining the cast of American Idol, Lambert made cameos in the Los Angeles production of Wicked, also touring with the show for a six-month stint. He’s also appeared in The Ten Commandments and The Zodiac Show, leaving audiences to wonder what this newfound exposure will do for the American Idol alum as he plots his next move. Lucky for Lambert, there is a smorgasbord of rock-oriented productions on the Broadway scene right now, including Bono and the Edge’s Spider-Man and Green Day’s American Idiot show.
