‘Rock of Ages’ to Join ‘Today’

Memorial Day just got a little bit better, and it’s all because performers of the smash Broadway musical Rock of Ages will join NBC’s morning program The Today Show on Monday as part of the Toyota Concert Series. Performing in three segments on The Today Show, cast members of the five-time Tony Award-nominated production will take the main stage during the program, performing a slew of hit songs included in the Broadway musical. On The Today Show, the first segment of the Rock of Ages portion (8:45 a.m.) will be a performance of the classic Journey song “Don’t Stop Believin’,” follow by segment two (8:52 a.m.) and a rendition of Damn Yankees!’ “High Enough,” followed by an interview with the musical’s stars Constantine Maroulis and Amy Spanger. After the interview, the cast will come back for one more performance, rounding out their stint with The Today Show with the hit song “Here I Go Again” by Whitesnake at 8:55 a.m.

Rock of Ages was written by Chris D’Arienzo and directed by Kristin Hanggi. The production opened on Broadway on April 7, 2009 after previews starting March 17 and plays at Broadway’s Brooks Atkinson Theatre on West 47th Street in New York City.
