Jude Law Returns to Wyndham’s Theatre

Actor Jude Law has been dominating the film industry for the last several years, and now this British heartthrob is making the return to London, where he’ll star in the summer production of Hamlet at Wyndham’s Theatre. The already-sold out production starts today and officially opens on June 3, running through August 22 and undoubtedly providing some of the summer’s hottest entertainment in London.

The Michael Grandage-directed version of Hamlet features Law in the title role of the production and also includes Alan Turkington (Fortinbras/Fancisco), Alex Waldmann (Laertes), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Ophelia), Ron Cook (Polonius), John MacMillan (Rosencrantz), Kevin R. McNally (Cladius), Penelope Wilton (Gertrude) and more. Hamlet was originally supposed to be directed by Kenneth Branagh, but Branagh bowed out due to commitments with his upcoming film Thor, leaving direction up to the company’s Artistic Director Michael Grandage.

This upcoming run with Hamlet is Jude Law’s first return to the London stage since his roles in the Young Vic’s productions of ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore and Dr. Faustus, though he has also been involved in several Box Office hits recently such as The Holiday, Closer and I Heart Huckabees, among several others.
