Neil Patrick Harris to Make a Repeat Performance?

Actor Neil Patrick Harris (best known as Dr. Doogie Howser?) made a splash on the scene of the Tony Awards last month as host of the prestigious event, and he made such an impression that now the former contributor to the Tonys will perhaps be hosting another awards show coming up: the Emmy Awards. Variety reported this week that Harris will be making the leap from the Tonys to the Emmys for the upcoming 61st annual Emmy Awards on CBS, and while nothing has been confirmed yet, plans are reportedly in the works for the How I Met Your Mother star to host another nationally broadcasted awards show. The 61st Primetime Emmy Awards will take place on Sunday, September 20, and will be broadcast through CBS. Nominations for the prestigious television awards will be announced on July 16.

Neil Patrick Harris may now be announcing the television awards for the Emmys, but aside from his stints on Doogie Howser: MD and How I Met Your Mother, he has also been a staple on the Broadway scene, having taken roles in productions such as Assassins, Cabaret and Proof over the last several years.
