Billy Elliot Announces National Tour

The Broadway musical Billy Elliot has been one of the most popular productions of the year, and thanks to the triple-threat of the Tony Award-winning Billys David Alvarez, Trent Kowalik and Kiril Kulish, this Elton John-penned production has consistently been one of the top-grossing Broadway shows since its opening. The current running of Billy Elliot garnered 10 Tonys this year for its captivating style and engaging performances, and the show will now go on, as it has just been announced that Billy Elliot will launch a national tour, starting in the spring of 2010 in Chicago. The multi-city tour will open in Chicago at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theater starting in March, and additional dates will be released in the future.

Confirming the national tour starting in Chicago next spring, Elton John recently said, “Chicago has always been one of my favorite cities to play. And it is my distinct pleasure to share this show that I love so much with a city that has always been very kind to me.” Billy Elliot has already wowed audiences on Broadway, and now it will touch an even bigger crowd on tour this spring.
