‘Rock of Ages’ Begins Tour

The energetic rock musical “Rock of Ages” lit up the Broadway stage in 2009 upon arrival, and now the production is headed around the country as the national tour gets underway. “Rock of Ages” made its grand entrance to Chicago’s Bank of America Theatre earlier this week and has garnered rave reviews so far, kicking off the start of a national tour in style.

“American Idol” alum Constantine Maroulis leads the way for “Rock of Ages” on tour as he reprises his role as Drew from a recent stint on Broadway, and he’s joined on stage by Rebecca Faulkenberry (as Sherrie), MiG Ayesa (as Stacee Jaxx), Nick Cordero (as Dennis Dupree), Mitchell Jarvis (temporary filling in for Patrick Lewallen as Lonny), Bret Tuomi (as Hertz) and Travis Walker (as Franz).

“Rock of Ages” comes complete with all the best music from ’80s classic rock groups like Styx, Journey, Whitesnake and Bon Jovi, and the show will breeze through cities all over the U.S. in the upcoming months. The musical will play Chicago’s Bank of America Theatre through Oct. 3, next conquering Boston’s Colonial Theatre from Oct. 6-17.
